  • The Gillott 303 and 404 nibs have been popular for a very long time. They have been around for a long time. The Gillott 303 is more flexible, the Gillott 404 is the same size but stiffer. The 303 was designed for artists, and is very popular with illustrators and cartoonists. The Gillott 404 was designed primarily for writing, but some people use it for drawing. Abraham Lincoln used the Gillott 404 to write his personal correspondence.
  • The Gillott 303/404 Nib Unit is shipped with our Perfect Fit Ink Feed, which lets you use Gillott 303 and 404 nibs and forget about dipping or painting the nib. Our feed is matched precisely to the Gillott 303 and 404 nibs, and delivers the ink or paint directly to the nib for a clean and accurate flow. This lets you letter and draw without dipping.
  • This Nib Unit also accepts other nibs of a similar size and shape, including the Hunt 22, 99 and 100 nibs.
  • This Nib Unit fits into the Pump Pen for Standard Nibs. You can insert all Nib Units into this pen, however, it is especially suited for nibs as small as the crowquill to as large as the Leonardt Principal, Hunt 22, 99 and 100 nibs.
  • Use any ink or paint - if it flows, it will work in the Pump Pen. India ink, acrylic paint, gouache and watercolor - they all work. And nothing sticks. You can flush the pen with warm tap water. If ink or paint does dry out in the pen, you can remove it easily.
  • Gravity flow works most of the time, but when you want a stronger flow, press the pump - you get what you press, from a drop to a gush.
  • The large reservoir lets you work away from your bottle of ink and not worry about running out. You can order extra reservoirs with caps to carry replacement ink or paint.
