To use this Nib Unit, just press it into the front of the Pump Pen. This Nib Unit will fit into both Pump Pens - the Pump Pen for Standard Nibs and the Pump Pen for Large Nibs, however, the Pump Pen for Large Nibs provides the cap large enough to accommodate this nib.
The Mitchell Roundhand Nib Unit is shipped with our Perfect Fit Ink Feed, which lets you use Mitchell Roundhand nibs and forget about dipping or painting the nib. Our feed is matched to the nib, and delivers ink or paint directly to the nib for a clean and accurate flow. This lets you letter without dipping. Our feed for the Mitchell Roundhand nib also accepts other nibs of a similar size and shape, such as the Leonardt Round and the Hiro Round nibs.
Use any ink or paint - if it flows, it will work in the Pump Pen. India ink, acrylic paint, gouache and watercolor - they all work. And nothing sticks. You can flush the pen with warm tap water. If ink or paint does dry out in the pen, you can remove it easily.
Gravity flow works most of the time, but when you want a stronger flow, press the pump - you get what you press, from a drop to a gush.
The large reservoir lets you work away from your bottle of ink and not worry about running out. You can order extra reservoirs with caps to carry replacement ink or paint.
