A section plug is a plug that is designed to stop up the open end of a Pump Pen. You use a section plug when you remove a section from your Pump Pen, and you want to make sure ink or paint doesn't leak out or something else crawl in.
Section plugs are good things to have if you switch tools between your Pump Pens. Many users have more sections than Pump Pens, so they don't need plugs. Other users, especially those with the Double Ended Pump Pen, come up short with enough sections. When this happens, the section plug is the solution.
You can use other items to plug your Pump Pens, such as small corks and wooden dowels . . . the list goes on. We have even stopped up our open Pump Pens temporarily with chop sticks, but that just plugs the tube and only temporarily - chopsticks fall out easily. We provide our plug for user who don't have such items at hand, or who want their plug to match the sleek design of our Pump Pen.
